The Northeast Coast of Florida,
in
the Jacksonville/Atlantic Beach/St. Augustine region enjoys
year round warm temperatures. Basically, there are three
seasons, Spring, Summer and Fall. Classified as a
semi-tropical climate with hot and humid summers, the
northeast coast receives lots of showers and thunderstorms
in the summer, and cooling ocean breezes helps moderate
temperatures. Thunderstorms are usually localized and short,
and therefore do not interfere with outdoor plans too much.
In winter, prevailing winds from the north keeps it a few
degrees cooler than southern Florida. The rainy season runs
May through October, with September generally being the
wettest month. Winters are sunny, dry and mild with cool
evenings.
On average there are 24
days of each month in winter that are dry.
